There are much more on the French page, since most of the GCD people are snail-eaters.

Somes guides to go through PhD

Guide to a doctorate in France

A great guide to the PhD (from funding to completion, by defending or not), with a list of good and bad practices. It’s written by two official associations (the CJC and the ANDès), and it’s full of legal references that can be useful to PhD students, supervisors, doctoral schools, etc…

Available in french and english!

Practical guide against sexual harrasment at university

Other cool websites

An unordered list of various websites.

Global PhD Server, a Discord server that gathers people from all over the world
PHD STUDENTS, a very active Discord server, with thousands of members. Ours look quite ridiculous next to it, but hey, it’s not a competition… and the goal isn’t the same. It’s mostly in French, but there are English sections. Open from master’s students to young researchers (before supervising).
The illustrated guide to a PhD, a funny little webpage.
TOR University Challenge, a website to convince your university to host a TOR relay, and thus help citizens from authoritarian states to circumvent censorship. To contribute directly to a free internet, there’s the plugin Snowflake installable on personal browser.
Terence Tao’s advices for young researchers .
